The National Test Pilot School (NTPS) is pleased to announce the opening of the selection process for the 2017 FTE Masters Fellowship Program.
The NTPS FTE Masters Fellowship Program is designed to provide recent engineering graduates the opportunity to earn a ABET accredited MS in Flight Test Engineering in an accelerated environment by providing a partial (30-50%) scholarship opportunity. Designed as an intensive one-year program, the FTE Masters Fellowship participant will attend class on a defined curriculum, complete a capstone project, and assist on various NTPS projects. Graduates of this program have the academic knowledge to perform aircraft and aviation systems envelope expansion, civil certification, and military suitability testing and ready to gain the practical, hands-on experience required to be a flight test engineer.
Selection Process: Once the application deadline has closed, student applications will be assessed for merit and rank ordered for both opportunities unless the applicant specifies otherwise. The goal will be to inform selected students of their opportunities by 7 April 2017. For both programs a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is highly desired. Candidates must be able to obtain a FAA 2nd Class Aviation Medical. Both programs require the student to maintain continuous enrollment throughout the program. Applicants are advised that they may not be eligible for student loan deferment under either program.
