DeHavilland DHC-1

The DeHavilland DHC-1 “Chipmunk” is a single-engine, tandem two-seat, conventional landing gear (tailwheel) aircraft operating under an Experimental Airworthiness Certificate.  It is powered by a Gipsy Major Mk 8 engine that produces 145 HP at sea level.  The Chipmunk has a maximum weight of 2,100 lbs.  NTPS uses the Chipmunk for qualitative evaluation, departure and spin flight test instruction.
