NTPS is pleased to announce our newest Flight Test Instructor, Adam Francki. Adam comes to us with 15 years of operational and flight test experience in the Royal Australian Air Force. As a former Supervisory Captain on both AP-3C Orion and P-8A Poseidon aircraft, Instructor Pilot, and Test Pilot for the RAAF Adam brings significant large aircraft fixed wing wing flight test experience to NTPS. Adam has earned two undergraduate degrees, multiple Master’s Degrees, and is a graduate of the US Air Force Test Pilot School. Adam is a welcome addition to the NTPS Instructor Team. Welcome Adam!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, NTPS President & CEO, Dr. Allen L. (AL) Peterson is pleased to announce that Mr. James E. (JB) Brown III has been selected as the next NTPS President effective 3 September 2021. As President, Mr. Brown will be responsible for ensuring NTPS meets all facets of its Mission and Strategic Goals.
JB joined NTPS in 2016 after retiring from Lockheed Martin where he served in a numerous flight test positions in the F-117 and F-22 programs including Chief Test Pilot. While at NTPS, he served in a variety of management positons including Vice President, COO, CFO, Head of Training, and Chief FW Test Pilot Instructor. JB also spent a few thousand hours passing on flight test knowledge to students both in the classroom and in the air.
JB is a Fellow and Past President of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, a Fellow in the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a member of Daedalians. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from VMI, a MS in Management from Troy State University, and is a graduate of USAF Test Pilot School class 86A.
Mr. Luca Campello will replace Brown as NTPS COO. Dr. Peterson will continue as the NTPS Chief Executive Officer focusing on Strategic Initiatives across the NTPS enterprise.

NTPS Instructor Patrick Hutcheson Inducted into Royal Aeronautical Society
The National Test Pilot School (NTPS) is pleased to announce that Patrick D Hutcheson has been conferred a fellowship in the Royal Aeronautical Society.
A fellowship in the Royal Aeronautical Society is the highest honor achievable in the organization and is given only to those in the profession of aeronautics or aerospace who have made an outstanding contribution to the profession, attained a position of high responsibility or have had long experience of high quality in the profession.
The Society’s award was bestowed on Mr. Hutcheson for his career-long Flight Test efforts in the Royal Canadian Air Force as well as the impact he has had through academic and flight instruction at NTPS.
Patrick has dedicated the entirety of his career to Flight Test and Flight Test Education. Beginning his career in 2001 as a fresh graduate of the Royal Military College, Canada’s military academy, he was assigned to the Canadian Air Force Flight Test Center in Cold Lake, Alberta. He worked for the test center until 2014 when he was assigned as the Chief of Staff for 4 Wing HQ, Canada’s largest Fighter Base. Shortly after leaving the test center, he was tasked with standing up a new Fighter Squadron, 401 Tactical Fighter Squadron, which subsequently deployed to Iraq and Syria as part of Operation IMPACT. The year following the deployment, Patrick retired from the Canadian Air Force after 22 years of service.The Society’s award was bestowed on Mr. Hutcheson for his career-long Flight Test efforts in the Royal Canadian Air Force as well as the impact he has had through academic and flight instruction at NTPS.
Hutcheson, who joined NTPS in 2017 as a Flight Test Instructor, is also an Educator member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of the Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE). Hutch is a FTE graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School and holds a MS from the US Naval Postgraduate School. He is currently pursuing a PhD from RMC and Test Pilot Training from NTPS to further enhance his professional development.
