CSET LEVEL 5 – Introduction to Advanced G Forces and Transonic Effects

CSET Level 5 is designed to introduce the commercial spaceflight participant to the advanced G force environment and the transonic flight environment. The day will start with a review of the physiological aspects of the planned flight and transonic effects. This will be followed by a briefing and introduction to the aircraft to be utilized and its associated safety systems. The flight portion will begin with a detailed briefing for the flight followed by the actual Introduction to Advanced G Forces flight. Post flight will consist of a flight debrief.

Course Duration ~ 1-2 Days; Flight Time ~ 1 hour; Supersonic Aircraft

Prerequisites: CSET Level 4; no exceptions

CSET LEVEL 4 – Introduction to Intermediate G Forces and Unusual Flight Attitudes

CSET Level 4 is designed to introduce the commercial spaceflight participant to the intermediate g force flight environment and various unusual flight attitudes. The day starts with a review of the physiological aspects of the planned flight and an introduction to Unusual Aircraft Attitudes and Aerobatics. This will be followed by a detailed briefing and introduction to the aircraft to be utilized and its associated safety systems. The flight portion will begin with a detailed briefing for the flight followed by the actual Introduction to Intermediate G Forces flight. Post flight will consist of a flight debrief and discussion of what will occur in Level 5 CSET training.

Prerequisites: CSET Level 3

CSET LEVEL 3 – Introduction to Moderate G Forces and Flight Environment

CSET Level 3 training is designed to introduce the commercial spaceflight participant to the moderate g force flight environment. The day starts with a review of the physiological aspects of the planned flight and a refresher of the various features of the business jet to be utilized. The flight portion of the day will begin with a detailed briefing for the flight followed by the actual Introduction to Moderate G Forces flight. Post flight will consist of a flight debrief and discussion of what will occur in Level 4 CSET training.

CSET LEVEL 2 – Introduction to Basic G Forces and Flight Environment

CSET Level 2 is designed to introduce the commercial spaceflight participant to the basics of the flight environment and some of the attitudes and g forces that can be experienced. The day starts with a review of the physiological aspects of the planned flight and a review of the various features of the business jet to be utilized. The flying segment will begin with a detailed briefing for the flight followed by the actual Introduction to Basic G Forces flight. Post flight will consist of a flight debrief and discussion of what will occur in Level 3 CSET training.

Prerequisites: CSET Level 1

CSET LEVEL 1 – CSET Ground Training

CSET Level 1 training is designed to give the commercial spaceflight participant the academic foundation to successfully complete the desired CSET training. It consists of academic training, ground training, and tours of NTPS and the Mojave Air and Space Port. Academics are scheduled to include Introduction to CSET, G Forces and Coping Strategies, Basic Flight and Aerodynamics, Energy Management, Transonic Effects, Mach Effects, and Local Tours. Ground training will include an introduction to the aircraft used in the program with specific training on the business jet used for the Level 2 and Level 3 training.
